Behavior Intervention Specialist

At New Story Schools, we serve students ages 5–21 with autism and emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. As a Behavior Intervention Specialist at New Story Schools, you will implement therapeutic interventions and behavior support strategies that help students build independence and meet their individualized goals. You'll play a key role in supporting students with consistency, care, and professionalism each day.

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent

• At least one year of experience working with children or adolescents with challenging behaviors

• Knowledge of behavioral disorders and de-escalation techniques

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations

What You'll Do

• Implement behavior interventions and strategies outlined in student plans

• Support students using approved crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques

• Document and report behavioral incidents accurately and promptly

• Collaborate with team members to assess effectiveness of interventions

• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
