Job Summary:
Bishop Lifting, an Altamont portfolio company, is seeking an Inventory Analyst to join the Supply Chain team. You will be a key member of the team analyzing over $100M of inventory across 45 locations and ensuring we have the right inventory availability that supports growth while managing inventory value.
The Inventory Analyst is responsible for analyzing, maintaining, and optimizing inventory levels across Bishop Lifting's branches and warehouses. This role ensures accurate inventory data, supports demand planning, reduces excess and obsolete inventory, and helps maintain the high service levels our customers expect in the lifting and rigging industry.
Essential Functions:
· Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability and turnover
· Maintain accurate inventory records across ERP and warehouse systems
· Identify slow moving, excess, and obsolete inventory and recommend corrective actions
· Support forecasting and demand planning based on historical usage and sales trends
· Collaborate with Purchasing, Sales, Operations, and Warehouse teams to align inventory with business needs
· Conduct and reconcile cycle counts and physical inventories
· Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement root-cause solutions
· Prepare regular inventory reports, KPIs, and dashboards for leadership
· Support new product lines, SKU rationalization, and inventory standardization initiatives
· Assist with process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency
· Ensure inventory practices comply with company policies and quality standards
· Develop SQL-based datasets to support inventory analysis, reporting, and forecasting
· Build Power BI dashboards for inventory KPIs including turns, aging, excess, service levels.
· Translate inventory data into actionable insights for leadership decision-making
· Perform other duties as specified
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
· Minimum 2 years of inventory analysis, supply chain, or operations experience
· Working knowledge of SQL for querying and validating ERP and warehouse data
· Experience with Power BI (or similar BI tools) for dashboards and KPI reporting
· Experience working with ERP systems (Business Central, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
· Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data queries)
· Experience in industrial distribution, manufacturing, or lifting/rigging is a plus
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills dealing with ambiguous situations
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
· Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
