JOB TITLE:Facilities Worker

FLSA STATUS:Non-Exempt; 12 month
Position Overview:
The Facilities Worker performs a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair work to support the safe, efficient, and well-maintained operation of campus buildings. This role focuses primarily on interior building systems and spaces, including classrooms, offices, common areas, and specialized facilities, and prefers experience across multiple trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, hvac, and general building maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate with the team
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on interior building systems to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Inspect, operate, test, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and building systems within campus facilities
- Diagnose maintenance issues and determine appropriate repairs using manuals, schematics, and blueprints as needed
- Repair, replace, assemble, or install interior equipment, wiring, plumbing, fixtures, and building components
- Perform general carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and structural repairs inside campus buildings
- Maintain and repair interior equipment, including cafeteria and kitchen equipment
- Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and effectively
- Support general cleaning, setup, and upkeep of interior spaces as needed
- Order parts, tools, and supplies, and maintain organized workspaces
- Assist with boiler and mechanical system maintenance as required
- Follow safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Occasional support of exterior or grounds-related tasks may be required based on operational needs.
- Occasional overtime is required
Qualifications:

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical training, or equivalent work experience preferred
Experience:
Facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related trade preferred
Physical Requirements:
This position requires regular physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and use of hands and arms.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally team lift up to 100 pounds
- Ability to push/pull equipment and materials
- Ability to work in varied indoor environments
- Visual acuity (including depth perception and peripheral vision)
- Ability to hear equipment operation and verbal instructions
- Ability to maintain balance and coordination
- Ability to wear required PPE (safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes, etc.)
