Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Conduct floor care activities including sweeping, mopping, buffing, waxing, and carpet cleaning to maintain pristine surfaces.
• Handle janitorial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and restocking supplies to ensure all areas are tidy and well-maintained.
• Maintain facilities by performing minor repairs, painting walls or fixtures as needed, and assisting with general maintenance tasks.
• Operate commercial cleaning equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
• Support industrial cleaning projects when required, including deep cleans or special sanitation procedures.
• Assist with porter duties such as moving furniture or equipment during events or renovations to support school operations.
• Set up lunch room area and take down and clean daily.
• A boilers license is needed to maintain school boilers.

Experience

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience in a commercial or educational setting.
• Familiarity with cleaning techniques including floor care (buffing, waxing) and industrial cleaning methods.
• Experience with residential painting or basic facilities maintenance is a plus.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals and equipment use.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and climbing ladders when necessary.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards.
