Armed Security Officer

We are seeking a highly trained and professional Armed Security Officer to ensure the safety and protection of a school campus in New York. The ideal candidate will have prior military or law enforcement experience, strong situational awareness, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents. This position plays a key role in maintaining a secure and supportive environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a visible and proactive security presence throughout the school campus.
• Monitor entrances, hallways, classrooms, and outdoor areas to enforce school security procedures.
• Respond immediately to emergencies, disturbances, or suspicious activity.
• Conduct routine patrols to identify safety risks or security concerns.
• Oversee access control and assist with visitor check-in processes.
• Prepare detailed daily activity logs and incident reports.
• Coordinate with school administrators, staff, and local law enforcement when necessary.
• Follow strict firearm safety protocols and comply with all New York State laws and school policies.

Requirements:

• Prior military or police experience required.
• Valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Valid New York State Armed Guard Registration and required firearm certifications.
• A valid New York State CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon Permit) is highly desired.
• Ability to pass a full background check and drug screening.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.
• Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
