Overview (interviews will be held in mid-January)
Parkside Business & Community In Partnership, Inc. (PBCIP) is seeking a Project Coordinator to help advance a diverse portfolio of development-related projects from concept through full funding and implementation. The ideal candidate will be a strategic, organized, and mission-driven professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and can manage complex projects at various stages of planning and execution.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about urban revitalization, creative economy development, and community-centered planning - someone who can turn vision into reality while staying grounded in community needs and equity principles.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage development projects from early-stage concept through funding, design, and implementation, including:
- The Camden Filmmaking Hub: a centralized ecosystem that brings together the people, places, and resources essential for film production and related creative industries such as podcasting, live streaming, editing and photography.
- Creative placemaking efforts that connect art, small business, culture, and neighborhood identity.
- Environmental mitigation efforts advanced through the renovation and greening of vacant lots located in areas targeted for redevelopment. These improvements will transform underutilized spaces into environmentally sustainable assets - reducing blight, managing stormwater runoff, improving air quality, and creating safer, more attractive spaces that complement surrounding development.
- Affordable housing development, including predevelopment planning and financing applications.
- Small business development initiatives that activate vacant storefronts or lots with temporary business and create shared spaces such as coworking spaces, makerspaces and artist studios.
Support ongoing initiatives such as:
- Prepare and track funding applications, grant proposals, and financing packages.
- Collaborate with consultants, funders, architects, and city agencies to advance project goals.
- Conduct background research, feasibility assessments, and data collection for new initiatives.
- Develop project budgets, timelines, and progress reports.
- Represent PBCIP in meetings with partners, community stakeholders, and funders.
- Assist in communications and reporting related to development projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in urban planning, community development, real estate, public administration, or a related field (Master's degree a plus).
- 3+ years of experience in project coordination, community development, or related fields.
- Knowledge of urban revitalization, affordable housing, or creative placemaking preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Familiarity with public and private funding sources, grant applications, and development financing tools.
- Collaborative spirit and commitment to equity-driven, community-based development
Compensation & Schedule
- Part-time position: 28 hours per week (maximum)
- Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience (ranging from $30-$35 hourly)
- Potential for growth in both scope and hours as new projects are implemented and funding increases
Interested applicants should submit a cover letter outlining relevant experience and commitment to community-based development, together with a current resume and three professional references. Application materials will be reviewed on a rolling basis and accepted until the position is filled.
Pay: $ $35.00 per year
