Shipyard Production Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

These shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following:

• Directly manage, coach, and support foremen in their daily responsibilities, providing clear direction and fostering a positive, productive work environment for all production staff.
• Coordinate production schedules and workflows to meet project deadlines and ensure optimal resource allocation.
• Identify and implement strategies to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall performance.
• Establish quality control measures and ensure that all products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
• Monitor production costs and develop budgets, ensuring that operations remain within financial parameters.
• Enforce company safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
• Work closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, and Sales teams to align production capabilities with project requirements and customer expectations.
• Prepare and present production performance reports to upper management, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
• Partner with HR and management in staffing decisions, including hiring, performance evaluations, training, and corrective actions for production staff.

• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
• Familiarity with marine repair and manufacturing processes and quality standards.
• Proficient in production management software and tools.
• Proficient in MicroSoft Suite software
• Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years in production management, with experience supervising foremen and production teams in a shipyard or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in new vessel construction is required.
