Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated PATH International Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) to lead and facilitate therapeutic riding sessions that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development for individuals with diverse needs. In this role, you will design and implement safe, engaging, and effective riding programs tailored to each participant's goals. Your energy, expertise, and compassionate approach will inspire confidence and foster growth in every rider. Responsibilities

  • Teach adaptive riding classes each week as needed. Instruct classes to the appropriate level of the participants, keeping classes running on time.
  • Develop written objectives and lesson plans for each student. Record weekly observations of each student's progress and review concerns or problems with the Director. Regularly communicate rider progress with riders, caregivers, and volunteers.
  • Supervise riders, volunteers, and visitors during class to maintain safety standards and an atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Ensure all facility release paperwork has been completed by any caregivers or visitors.
  • Carry out safety guidelines for handling and tacking horses, volunteer/instructor assistance to riders and volunteer behavior.
  • Maintain rider profiles and attendance records.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, tack room, and office area.
  • Coordinate the evaluation of the horse, volunteer, and equipment needs for each instructor's class load.
  • Assist with training of all class volunteers when needed.
  • Instruct volunteers in specifics required for performance on program.
  • Support the staff in assuring that the facility is clean, safe, and properly prepared for the duration of the program.
  • Maintain PATH International certification through membership and continuing education. Uphold PATH Intl. standards at all times.
  • Participate in the promotion of Free Rein.

Experience

  • PATH Intl. Certification as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) is required
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to accept supervision and guidance.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with staff, riders, caregivers, and volunteers.
  • Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other health hazards related to horse barn.
  • Physical ability to perform all duties and responsibilities related to the horse barn.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 20.0 per week
