Security & Technology Solutions Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Security & Technology Solutions Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of security and technology systems. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of security infrastructure, including surveillance, access control, fire alarms, and low voltage systems. Work will be completed for both commercial and high end residential customers.

Duties

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot security systems such as CCTV cameras, sensors, Fire alarms, Burglar Alarms and access control devices using schematics and technical manuals
• Perform routine maintenance on computer hardware, networking equipment, and low voltage electrical systems to ensure optimal performance
• Conduct field service visits for system diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and commissioning at client sites
• Utilize hand tools and power tools to run cabling, mount equipment, and perform mechanical adjustments in construction or retrofit projects
• Design system layouts based on client requirements, including wiring diagrams and schematics for surveillance, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems
• Integrate remote access software for system monitoring and management from off-site locations
• Collaborate with clients to identify security needs, provide system demonstrations including alarm system sales opportunities, and recommend tailored solutions
• Commercial Audio and Visual and data networking
• Adhere to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards during installations to ensure safety and compliance with electrical regulations

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a service technician in security or low voltage systems with a strong understanding of computer networking and telecommunication principles
• Mechanical knowledge related to construction practices, lock smithing techniques, and the use of hand tools and power tools for installation tasks
• Familiarity with system design principles for surveillance (CCTV), sensors (motion detectors), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and other security hardware
• Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately
• Electrical experience with cabling techniques including low voltage wiring standards and conduit work
• Knowledge of fire alarm systems, burglar alarm systems and associated testing procedures
• Strong troubleshooting skills across computer hardware, network connectivity issues, remote access software configuration, and security system components
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to clients and team members
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required

Pay: $ $37.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
