Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer

Job Overview
Capitol Special Patrol is currently seeking qualified and experienced candidates for a part-time position as an Unarmed Security Officer for a Shopping Center in Matthews, NC. Candidates with experience and a current NCPPS registration are preferred.

Candidates will be responsible for driving a marked patrol vehicle throughout the shopping center to perform vehicle and foot patrols in accordance with the post orders.

This role requires a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to respond effectively to various situations while ensuring the safety of individuals and property.

Schedule
Candidates would work on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4pm until 12am (midnight). This amounts to 16 hours per week.

Duties

• Conduct regular patrols of the shopping center to deter and detect criminal activity.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, or alarms on the property.
• Engage in conflict management to de-escalate potentially volatile situations when necessary.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies when required.
• Document all routine patrols and critical incidents accurately and maintain detailed reports.
• Enforce rules and regulations of property while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of law enforcement or security experience (preferred).
• Current NCPPS Registration as an Armed Guard (preferred).
• Current valid Driver License with a good driving record (required).
• Must have reached the age of twenty-one (21) years (required).
• Must not have any felony or serious misdemeanor convictions (required).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Resident Alien (required).
• Must be of good moral character (required).
• Must be able to conform to military-style grooming and appearance standards (required).
• Must be able to work every Wednesday and Thursday (required, time-off will be discussed in the interview).
• At least one (1) year of vehicle patrol experience (preferred).
• Current CPR Certification (preferred).
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Ability to work in a team environment when necessary.
• Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be physically fit to perform duties that may involve standing for long periods or responding quickly in emergencies.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
