Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Engineering Student to join the SPR Engineering Team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to perform entry-level engineering activities for planning, research, study, design, construction, modification and maintenance, operation, and optimization of wastewater treatment facilities or entry-level engineering activities for SPR's Engineering Division. Works under the direction of the Engineering Staff.

This seasonal intern position plans, reviews, and performs entry-level engineering related to the planning and operation of wastewater transmission and treatment facilities to support the South Platte Renew Engineering Division.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Engineering staff, as assigned

Direct Reports: None

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs engineering analysis, prepares technical reports and provides comments related to engineering activities.
  • Performs field work and data collection.
  • Participates in preparation of cost estimates, specifications and bid evaluations.
  • Prepares engineering calculations and modeling.
  • Prepares technical reports; meets and coordinates with engineering department, operations staff, consultants, contractors, government agencies, and utilities companies.
  • Monitors construction progress and expenditures.
  • Inspects construction sites.
  • Provides input on change orders.
  • Utilizes various software to produce maps, drawings, and graphics. Operates accessory equipment, scanners and plotters.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Engineering Intern

Education, License, Certification, and Work Experience*:

  • Currently enrolled and working toward a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or a directly related field.
  • Experience performing engineering analysis preferred.
  • Ability to conduct field work including, piloting, sampling, construction inspection, and other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications (All Levels)
Valid Colorado driver's license and a clear or acceptable MVR.

  • An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant job experience may be substituted.

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements
Office Work - Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment, requiring sitting for extended periods, and occasional light lifting (up to 15 lbs). Work requires visual and physical capabilities to work on computers and associated equipment for prolonged periods (4-6 hours daily).

Field Work - Work may be performed on construction sites where there may be exposure to dust, noise, traffic, and moving construction equipment. Work may be performed at wastewater treatment facility where noise, irritants, dust, dirt bacteria, hazardous chemicals/air materials and fumes are present.

HOURLY PAY RANGE

$ $26.50
