Activities Assistant

SVCC is seeking a compassionate and dependable Activities Assistant to join our team and help create engaging, joyful experiences for our residents. The Activities Assistant supports the Activities Director in planning and leading daily programs that promote residents' physical, social, and emotional well-being. This role is key in keeping residents active, connected, and engaged in their community.

Position Details:

Job Type: Full-Time (Non-Exempt)

Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead recreational, educational, and social activities
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
• Record resident participation and feedback
• Support residents during community outings and events
• Maintain and organize activity supplies and materials
• Decorate for holidays, birthdays, and special occasions
• Communicate changes or concerns about residents to nursing staff
• Promote kindness, dignity, and respect in all resident interactions

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Pre-Employment Drug Screen & Background Check required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Basic English reading, writing, and speaking skills required (for safety)
• Experience in assisted living or long-term care preferred
• Knowledge of memory care or recreational therapy a plus
• Must be able to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays
