Reports to: Radiology Manager

At Simpson General Hospital (SGH), we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality healthcare in a hometown environment.

We are seeking a dedicated Radiologic Technologist to provide exceptional patient care and technical expertise in diagnostic imaging. This role requires proficiency in radiographic procedures and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate radiographic and related imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images as directed
  • Follow physicians' orders to image specific body areas
  • Explain procedures and ensure patient comfort to reduce anxiety
  • Properly position patients and utilize radiation protection techniques
  • Maintain and manage imaging supplies and equipment
  • Ensure timely upload of images to PACS for radiologist review
  • Accurately document procedures in patient charts
  • Adhere to hospital policies, infection control protocols, and safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including working varied shifts, weekends, and holidays

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a program from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification
  • Current Mississippi license as a Medical Radiation Technologist
  • 24 CE hours every 2 years per ARRT requirements

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in CT scanning

  • Knowledge of healthcare laws and radiologic safety procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Adaptability to a fast-paced, variable schedule environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk/stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and assist patients
  • Manual dexterity for handling equipment
  • Visual and auditory acuity for detailed work and communication
  • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds as needed
