Food Runner Busser

Job Summary
The Busser at SUR plays a key role in keeping our fast-casual restaurant running smoothly and feeling welcoming at all times. This position supports the front-of-house team by maintaining cleanliness, resetting tables quickly, assisting with food and beverage service, and ensuring guests always feel cared for in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. A great busser at SUR is attentive, efficient, team-oriented, and proactive—someone who notices what's needed before being asked and takes pride in keeping the space organized and flowing.

Responsibilities

• Clear and reset tables promptly to maintain a clean and inviting dining area
• Buss tables by removing used dishes, glassware, and utensils to uphold cleanliness standards
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to coordinate service flow
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and special dietary accommodations to assist guests confidently
• Maintaining cleanliness of the dining room, patio, and service areas
• Assisting servers with food running, beverages, and guest needs
• Washing and restocking glassware, plates, and utensils as needed
• Replenishing water, napkins, cutlery, and service stations throughout service
• Supporting to-go orders and coordinating with the cashier when needed
• Following sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards at all times

Experience

• Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is key
• Familiarity with food handling, serving, bussing, and basic food preparation techniques
• Experience with POS systems such as toast is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor are essential for guest interactions
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices is highly valued
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
