Job Description
Rheem is seeking a
Sr. Azure Data & Governance Engineer
to drive the development of our modern enterprise data platform and lead our data governance initiatives. This role blends deep technical expertise in Azure-based data engineering with strategic leadership in data governance, quality, and stewardship. You'll play a key role in our digital transformation journey, enabling cloud technologies that unlock the full value of our data assets.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable data solutions using Microsoft Azure (Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake, ADF).
  • Build and maintain automated data ingestion, transformation, and validation pipelines.
  • Lead data governance strategy and execution, including data quality, lineage, cataloging, and stewardship.
  • Implement and manage data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview and Databricks Unity Catalog.
  • Maintain and expand the enterprise data catalog in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Oversee data quality initiatives including profiling, cleaning, and monitoring using PySpark, Pandas, and Databricks.
  • Support schema development for business tools such as Convergence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architects, developers, analysts) to ensure data solutions meet business and technical requirements.
  • Lead dashboarding and analytics efforts to deliver actionable insights using Power BI and semantic modeling.
  • Optimize data integration processes for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with internal data policies and external regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in data engineering, data governance, and analytics.
  • Strong experience with: Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Purview, Unity Catalog, Azure Data Lake, ETL/ELT processes and pipeline orchestration, SQL, T-SQL, Python, PySpark
  • Deep understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and metadata management.
  • Experience with data modeling (dimensional, star/snowflake schema) and data product development.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD using Git.
  • Knowledge of MDM concepts and Power BI semantic modeling.
  • Experience working with various data formats (relational, JSON, Parquet, streaming).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and adapt to new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate Certification.
  • Experience with Convergence, Oracle EBS, and manufacturing industry data.
  • Certification in Data Science or Machine Learning.
