Come and play a crucial, behind the scenes role that protects patients, supports surgical excellence, and keeps our hospital running at its best

As a Sterile Processing Specialist you will prepare, inspect, assemble and sterilizes surgical instruments/equipment according to hospital and departmental procedures. Provide a continuous flow of sterile supplies, equipment and instrumentation to all areas of Children's.

This position requires:

  • High School diploma or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required.
  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
  • One year experience as a Sterile Processing Tech preferred.
  • Current Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) preferred with certification to be obtained no later than 18 months after hire.
  • Analytical ability to learn and differentiate different types of instruments, supplies and equipment.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with physicians, nursing staff and patients/families.
  • Ability to stand and maneuver equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Knowledge of complex instrumentation preferred.
  • Basic knowledge and skill of computer use.

Hours:

Second shift hours 3pm-11:30pm

This position also participates in a rotating weekend and Holiday.
