Job Description
The Area Labor Specialist is responsible for managing labor scheduling and booking within a designated Texas market. Reporting to the Head of Labor Coordination, this position serves as the virtual liaison for all labor-related logistics, ensuring accurate and timely crew assignments. While Operations Managers and onsite Stewards handle direct workforce management and client relations, the Specialist supports these teams by coordinating labor needs, tracking attendance, and documenting performance concerns for escalation. This position will be mostly remote with onsite support as needed.
Key Responsibilities And Focus Areas
Labor Scheduling & Booking
- Receive labor requests via phone, or email, and input assignments into scheduling platform.
- Coordinate crew availability and confirm bookings for events and projects.
- Maintain and update labor calendars to reflect current assignments and changes.
Attendance Tracking & Documentation
- Monitor crew attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Document policy violations and performance concerns for review by the Operations Manager.
- Follow up with crew members regarding attendance discrepancies when needed.
New Hire Support
- Welcome new employees virtually and ensure they are properly entered into labor systems.
- Track onboarding progress and flag any issues to the Director of Labor Coordination or Operations Manager.
Communication & Coordination
- Act as the virtual point of contact for labor-related inquiries from internal teams.
- Relay labor assignments, updates, and expectations to crew members clearly and promptly.
- Collaborate with Operations Managers and onsite Stewards to ensure labor plans align with event needs.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate labor records and updates in internal systems.
- Provide market-specific labor data and updates to the Director of Labor Coordination.
- Assist with reporting on labor metrics such as fill rates and attendance trends.
- Support with Onsite check-in as for larger calls.
