WC Smith has an immediate need for an experienced Leasing Consultant to join Washington View Apartments in Southeast DC. As a Leasing Consultant, you will maintain a high level of customer service and have excellent communication skills. Leasing Consultants at WC Smith require significant interaction with residents and prospective residents on a regular basis.

The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, and Saturdays on rotation from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

• Prepare and process rental applications and lease packages for review and approval by manager.
  • Enter data pertaining to potential residents into the computer as instructed.
  • Collect and log monies from prospects and future residents.
  • Tour prospects through model apartments or market ready units.
  • Respond to phone inquiries and provide rental information.
  • Maintain communication with approved applicants.
  • Shop competition through phone calls and visits on a regular basis.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports as instructed by management.
  • Inspects apartments to ensure move in status.
  • Greet all prospects and residents that enter the rental office.
  • Assess housing needs of prospective residents.
  • Conduct all leasing activity in strict accordance with Section 8, Tax Credit and Fair Housing Guidelines.
  • Obtain knowledge of the community in order to overcome prospect objections and then lease apartments.
  • Provide and produce marketing flyers to be distributed as instructed.
  • Maintain an advertising binder of all ads for the community and the competition, alert management of special offers the competitors may be advertising.

EXPERIENCE:
• At least two years of experience in residential leasing.

  • Outstanding customer service orientation.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments preferred.
  • Tax credit and subsidy experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work alternating weekends, or as needed.
  • Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • High degree of energy and motivation.


• Experience in turning leads into signed leases is required.

  • Experience with Yardi is a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
