SUMMARY:
The Network Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stable, reliable, and secure operation of the organization’s computer systems and network infrastructure. This position is a hands-on technical role responsible for planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, documenting, and optimizing all network hardware, server systems, and core infrastructure services.
Under the supervision and direction of the Senior Director of Enterprise Systems & Technology, the Network Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure and for providing technical support to end users. This role is focused on execution, reliability, and operational excellence within the standards, policies, and architecture established by IT leadership.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions, upgrades, and major modifications to the organization’s IT infrastructure.
Oversees and manages the administration and maintenance of IT infrastructure including day-to-day maintenance, documentation, troubleshooting, and monitoring.
Manages and maintains network hardware and equipment including servers, storage, firewalls, routers, switches, wireless systems, and UPS devices.
Oversees installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting end-user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
Administers and maintains user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Manages and performs system backups, recovery operations, and restore testing.
Establishes and maintains optimal network performance by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency.
Assists in selecting, installing, configuring, tuning, and testing network and server equipment.
Maintains network and system documentation, diagrams, and procedures.
Builds and configures servers and PCs, both physical and virtual.
Assists in infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and hardware refresh projects.
Maintains, deploys, and enforces security posture and IT policies as established by management.
Administers and supports firewalls, antivirus, VPN, and other security-related systems.
Provides Help Desk and technical support to end users:
Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes requests for assistance.
Logs and tracks requests using help desk software and maintains problem documentation.
Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up.
Escalates complex or systemic issues as appropriate.
Installs, documents, inventories, maintains, and troubleshoots all IT assets including:
Network infrastructure (cabling, switches, routers, firewalls, wireless)
Servers, PCs, printers, and peripherals
Operating systems and core application platforms
Email systems
Backup and recovery systems
Works with vendors and outside consultants as required under the direction of IT leadership.
Assists in budget planning and cost estimation for IT projects and infrastructure needs.
Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential and adhering to IT ethical standards and company policies.
Demonstrates flexibility in adjusting to variable workloads and job duties.
Participates in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
Treats fellow employees, vendors, and visitors with respect and professionalism at all times.
Shows sincere commitment and adherence to all Corporate Compliance requirements.
Plans and manages assigned projects with minimal supervision.
Updates job knowledge and skills through training, seminars, and self-study.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
ROLE BOUNDARIES AND AUTHORITY:
This position is responsible for the execution, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure and systems.
Architecture, standards, policies, strategic direction, vendor strategy, and risk acceptance are defined by IT leadership.
The Network Administrator is expected to escalate architectural, capacity, security, or systemic concerns rather than unilaterally changing standards or designs.
REQUIREMENTS AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
Strong knowledge of:
LAN/WAN, VLANs, switching, routing, firewalls, wireless
Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or equivalent)
Backup and recovery systems
Microsoft 365 and basic Azure administration
Storage systems
VPN technologies
Endpoint security systems
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and organizational skills
Ability to communicate in both business and user-friendly language
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Willingness to share knowledge with team members and users.
Ability to listen to users, understand their problems, translate issues into technical terms, and explain solutions clearly.

EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of experience in network and systems administration in a medium-sized environment.
Relevant certifications are a plus:
Microsoft
VMware
Security or infrastructure certifications
WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Monday through Friday, with after-hours or weekend work as required.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, and crouching all day.
This position operates in various environments including indoors and outdoors and in all kinds of weather(safety is foremost)., but typically inside a warehouse and in an environment typical of a distribution operation.
Exposure to dust and noise; some heavy lifting, standing, climbing; you may work at heights; and work in inclement weather conditions.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, and various computer programs.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, and hear.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, kneel, stoop, and lift or move heavy equipment
Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
Walking, standing, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, etc. is required
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Work safely under functional guidelines such as PPE and equipment operation
May be exposed to variable noise levels, fumes, hazardous chemicals, or airborne particles • PPE requirements: Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses are required when on the warehouse floor as a minimum. Other PPE may be required depending on the area and specific functional needs.
The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
* The candidate is routinely required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, touch, see, and hear.
* Must be able to bend and push/pull heavy pallets.
* Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
* Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
* Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
* Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
* Kneeling: Bending legs at the knee to come to rest on the knee or knees.
* Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
* Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
* Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
* Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
* Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
* Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
* Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
* Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
* Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
* Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
