Job Summary:

As a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) at Lawton Post Acute & Rehab, you will play a vital role in providing quality care to our residents by assisting with medication administration under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Your attention to detail, compassion, and dedication to resident well-being will contribute to maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Medication Administration:
  • Administer medications accurately and according to physician orders, facility policies, and state regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation of medication administration, including dosage, time, and route.
  • Medication Management:
  • Assist in the ordering, receiving, storing, and disposal of medications in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor medication supplies and report any discrepancies or shortages to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Resident Care:
  • Provide compassionate care to residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity at all times.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed, while promoting independence and self-care whenever possible.
  • Observation and Reporting:
  • Observe residents for any changes in condition or adverse reactions to medications, promptly reporting concerns to the licensed nurse.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of resident observations and interactions.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, including nurses, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate resident care plans.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and facility policies to maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Stay updated on current medication administration practices and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Medication Aide in the state of Oklahoma.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Prior experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting preferred.
