Description

1. Assist with supervision of students in school and in other settings.
2. Maintain a well-ordered learning environment.
3. Enforce school rules and procedures.
4. Maintain an atmosphere of respect toward people and property.
5. Maintain an atmosphere conducive to study.
6. Monitor student behavior and work habits.
7. Communicate with staff regarding work and problems of any/all children.
8. Maintain confidentiality of information.
   OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
9. May be asked to participate in team processes for continuous improvement.
10. Perform other responsibilities set forth in the teacher assistant job description.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma.
2. Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
3. Ability to interact tactfully, effectively, and courteously with students, parents, staff, and others encountered on the job.
4. Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
5. Strong writing, language and computational skills.
6. Strong desire to make an impact with students.
7. Ability to staff the position for the scheduled work day.
8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
