Position Summary
The Plumbing Service Technician diagnoses, repairs, and installs residential/light-commercial and commercial plumbing systems. Working under the Service Manager, this role troubleshoots piping, fixtures, and equipment; clears drains; and ensures code-compliant, safe, and high-quality work for GEMCO customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose issues and perform repairs on piping systems; locate and fix leaks.
- Install, assemble, maintain, and repair pipes, valves, and fixtures.
- Install/repair water heaters, dishwashers, toilets, sinks, disposals, and related equipment.
- Operate jetter and cable machines to clean and clear drain lines.
- Test systems/fixtures for function, performance, and safety; document findings.
- Interpret blueprints, specs, and work orders; ensure adherence to state/local codes.
- Communicate clearly with customers, Dispatch, and Service Support; maintain accurate service notes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs; climbing ladders; working from lifts/scaffolds; rooftop and indoor/outdoor environments; other manual labor as required.

- High school diploma/GED.
- Vocational certificate, associate degree, or completed apprenticeship (preferred/expected).
- 4+ years of professional plumbing experience.
- Proficient with plumbing tools/equipment; strong knowledge of piping, venting, and materials.
- Ability to read technical drawings; solid troubleshooting and customer service skills.
- Safety-minded, organized, and dependable; valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
