Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional front desk support, manage patient interactions, and ensure smooth clinic operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems eClinicalWorks preferred, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. The Medical Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, facilitating efficient appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical documentation review.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients at the front desk, scanning insurance and identification and accepting co-pays.
  • Schedule appointments using EMR system eClinicalWorks.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits.
  • Collect payments for co-pay, deductibles and other patient balances over the phone and in person.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with proper phone etiquette to handle appointment inquiries and patient questions.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation review in compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Support clinic operations through clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, chart prep and data entry.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area to promote a welcoming environment.
  • Complete medical record requests following HIPAA guidelines.
  • Possibility to train for medical assistant coverage as needed.

Experience

  • Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR system eClinicalWorks is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle patient inquiries professionally via phone or in person.
  • Experience with insurance verification processes and health information management is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations is mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
