Position Overview
As the Front of House (FOH) / General Manager, you will take full ownership of our San Juan Capistrano location. We are looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about high-quality donuts and coffee. You will be the face of the shop, responsible for cultivating a positive team culture, driving operational excellence, and ensuring every guest leaves with a smile.
The ideal candidate balances strategic leadership with daily execution, seamlessly coordinating between front-of-house hospitality and back-of-house production.
Key ResponsibilitiesStore Leadership & Culture
- Operational Accountability: Serve as the primary leader responsible for all store operations, safety, and guest satisfaction.
- Cultural Leadership: Foster a professional, inclusive, and energetic team environment; lead by example through "shoulder-to-shoulder" management.
Team Management & Development
- Talent Acquisition: Recruit, hire, and onboard a high-performing FOH team.
- Coaching: Provide consistent performance feedback, recognize achievements, and handle corrective actions with professionalism.
- Labor Management: Oversee all FOH scheduling and collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to ensure seamless BOH labor coverage.
Operational Excellence
- Daily Oversight: Supervise opening/closing procedures, food safety compliance, and shop cleanliness.
- Maintenance: Manage equipment service calls (including off-hours emergencies) and coordinate repairs with the Kitchen Manager.
- Innovation: Execute monthly menu rotations and launch "Novelty Donut" offerings.
- Catering: Manage the end-to-end catering process, from initial proposals to final delivery.
Guest Experience
- Quality Control: Ensure every guest receives "perfection in a box"—consistent donuts, premium coffee, and friendly service.
- Problem Solving: Resolve guest or staff concerns quickly and with a "service-first" mindset.
Financial & Inventory Management
- Cash Oversight: Manage daily POS reconciliation, weekly deposits, and change orders.
- Supply Chain: Oversee FOH inventory, including coffee beans, packaging, and disposables.
- Profitability: Monitor labor and COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) to drive sustainable sales growth.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of management experience in hospitality, food service, or specialty retail.
- Leadership: A proven track record of building teams and holding staff accountable.
- Expertise: Deep understanding of POS systems and cash management.
- Attitude: A hands-on "doer" who isn't afraid to jump on the line or the register during a rush.
- Organization: Exceptional detail orientation—you notice the small things that others miss.
- Passion: A genuine love for the community of San Juan Capistrano and the art of hospitality.
Work Environment & Requirements
- Must be available to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays (peak donut hours).
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be reachable for emergency maintenance or operational needs off-hours.
Pay: $68, $75,000.00 per year
