Sr. Control Engineer Job Description
Job Summary
Based in Sandy, UT, SPI Automation is recognized as one of Utah's leaders in control systems integration. We are a recognized Rockwell Systems integrator, Authorized FANUC integrator, and a certified member of the Control Systems Integrator Association. We are in search of someone who can help us design and program control systems for our clients. We promote a team environment where our people are given the opportunity to be creative, work on a variety of projects, and most of all, solve problems We focus on being the experts for controls, a subject that most people don't understand but know it is critical to their operations.
We are looking for candidates with strong industrial experience. We need to see people who have experience programming PLC's and HMI's. Experience in material handling and a food manufacturing environment are preferred. We are growing and seeking controls engineers to join the team.

Responsibilities and Duties
Leading and mentoring junior engineers
PLC/HMI programming
Robot programming
Project Management skills, managing a project schedule, helping other stay on track
Interfacing directly with customers, including managing scope and timelines, change orders with assistance from the non-technical project manager
Designing controls panels
Troubleshooting equipment
Specifying controls hardware & field instrumentation
Traveling to job sites (local and out of state) up to 40%.

Qualifications and Skills
BS/BA degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science
Proven track record of success leading control system projects
At least 5 years of PLC programming experience
Comfortable in an industrial environment
Database programming skills a plus
AutoCAD & MS Office proficiency
