Estimator - Steel Construction

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator with experience in structural and miscellaneous steel to support our growing construction projects. This role focuses on analyzing drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to develop accurate, competitive bids and support project success from pre-construction through handoff.

Key Responsibilities
• Review architectural and structural drawings to prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates
• Develop bills of materials and labor estimates for steel fabrication and erection
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to obtain pricing, lead times, and technical information
• Identify value engineering options, scope gaps, and project risks during the bidding process
• Prepare and submit formal proposals, budgets, and complete bid packages
• Track bid results, maintain the estimating database, and support handoff to operations after award

• Prior experience estimating structural and miscellaneous steel in a construction environment

• Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, Excel, FabTrol, or similar tools

• Strong knowledge of steel shapes, connection types, welding processes, fabrication methods, and industry standards

• Excellent analytical, mathematical, communication, and organizational skills
