HVAC Service Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems. This role involves complex installations, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring all work meets industry standards and safety regulations. Employees have extensive experience with commercial HVAC systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage installation projects from start to finish.

Duties

Duties & Responsibilities

1. HVAC System Installation & Supervision

2. Lead the installation of commercial HVAC systems.

3. 
   • Ensure proper assembly, installation, and testing of ductwork, piping, and electrical components.

4. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to execute precise installations.

5. Perform advanced brazing, soldering, and wiring of HVAC components.

6. Oversee and assist with system startups and commissioning.

7. Troubleshooting & Quality Assurance

8. Diagnose and resolve installation issues, ensuring all systems function efficiently.

9. Perform system testing, calibrations, and airflow adjustments to meet performance requirements.
10. Verify refrigerant charges, electrical connections, and proper airflow in installed systems.

11. Maintain detailed documentation of installations and modifications.

12. Leadership & Training

13. Supervise and mentor junior and intermediate technicians, providing on-the-job training and guidance.

14. Delegate tasks efficiently to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

15. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to optimize workflow.

16. Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure all work complies with local HVAC codes, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
    • Follow safety protocols, including proper handling of refrigerants and electrical systems.

17. Conduct safety inspections and ensure team members adhere to company policies.

18. Handle commercial start-ups, controls, and service support

Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC installation.
• HVAC certification or trade school diploma preferred.
• Expertise in installing and troubleshooting commercial HVAC systems.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Advanced skills in brazing, soldering, piping, and electrical wiring.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• EPA 608 Certification required.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and operate power tools.

Physical Requirements
