Job Summary:
Responsible for maintaining all plant equipment and facilities as needed and as efficiently and timely as possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Repairs or replaces plant equipment or systems on a scheduled or emergency basis. Assists with diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance related issues.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as required.
  • Participates in the established maintenance plan and complies with departmental procedures.
  • Participates in safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Assists with ensuring compliance with city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to maintenance and plant equipment.
  • Ensures accurate maintenance records, analyzing results, and improving measures as identified.
  • Communicates regularly with and assists all necessary personnel and departments to ensure consistent operation of maintenance and repair work.
  • Provides a "Customer Service" attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety requirements.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.
Education and Experience:
  • Education: High School or Equivalent required, and related technical field, certificate, or diploma from a trade school in related field, preferred.
  • Experience: In-depth knowledge of maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of plant equipment and safety procedures.
  • Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in the facility, to maintain rotating and stationary machinery and equipment: industrial size equipment such as lifts and skid steers; variety of hand tools, power tools, testing instruments (laser alignment), welders (acetylene and electric), drills, pipe threaders; limited amount of light electrical work.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and senior level management.
  • Ability to maintain good attendance habits.
  • Abide by all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
  • Abide by company's safety, quality, environmental and HR policies at all times.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit.
  • Frequently required to climb to levels of 125 feet or more, confined, and harnessed. Use of stairs and ladders are required.
  • Must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
  • Production environment could include frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat or cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration; the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; the noise level in the production environment is usually very loud.
  • This position requires use of a respirator.
