Position: Counter Sales and Customer Support

Reports to: Store Manager

Job Classification: Full-Time, Hourly

Description: At Munro Supply, we service our region's most fundamental industries – the bedrock of our economy and our way of life. We help our customers get their jobs done by offering a strong local inventory, technical product expertise, and professional-grade repair services. We've been the Rocky Mountain Region's best source for hose, pumps, valves, fittings and other industrial goods, for over 55 years. We partner with our customers to solve problems and get the job done right.

This position is responsible for assisting customers at our sales counter and maintaining a professional, clean environment in the showroom. In addition, this position answers the phones and email orders and inquiries, providing excellent customer service and customer experiences. Must possess high energy, great organizational and follow-through skills, be analytical, and have passion and drive for excellence in all that you do.

Knowledge of the following product types is very helpful: hose and hose fittings (industrial and hydraulic), valves and fittings, pumps and pump controls, and other industrial goods.

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet and assist walk-in customers at front counter and answer incoming phone calls in a timely, positive and professional manner
• Provide support to customers at the sales counter, recommend products, provide solutions, take orders, follow up on orders, assist in all aspects of customer relations
• Create and process orders using our point of sale and ERP system.
• Contribute to the professional appearance of the showroom by merchandising end caps and counter displays, and contributing to general tidiness
• Open and/or close the showroom as assigned and in accordance with procedures

Additional Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate with the team – proactively seek opportunities to engage with and support the team
• Follow all company procedures and policies for efficiency, good communication, and safety

• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Attention to Detail: Ability to work with precision and identify and solve problems
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving ability
• Speaking and Writing: Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Computer skills: Must be able to navigate computer programs; ability to quickly learn and retain knowledge of new computer programs.
• Past experience: At least 2 years experience in a sales support, retail, or a related position is a must. Experience in hose and other industrial goods is highly preferred.
• Enthusiastic, high energy, results driven, solid work ethic.

Physical Job Requirements

• Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break
• Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions
• Ability to hear and respond appropriately to facility commands
• Ability to speak English aloud and be understood by others

Additional Considerations

• Knowledge of industrial goods, especially hose, valves and/or fittings, and pumps a major plus
• Knowledge of the industries we serve, especially construction, mining, irrigation, and industrial, a major plus
