We are looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team in San Francisco, California. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data, which is essential for efficient warehouse operations and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for managing inventory levels, conducting regular audits, investigating discrepancies, and implementing process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse management systems and logistics principles. A commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant inventory environment is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Monitor inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock rotation and minimizing stock-outs and overstocks.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper storage procedures and the use of PPE.
- Manage and track returned goods and damaged inventory.
- Generate reports on inventory accuracy, turns, and other key performance indicators.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and logistics operations.
- Ability to work independently and lead projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring physical ability, including occasional Lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Commitment to safety and the appropriate use of PPE in a warehouse environment.
