We are hiring Picker/Packers for our busy distribution center in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient picking and packing of customer orders, playing a crucial part in our logistics chain. Your attention to detail and ability to work quickly and accurately will be key to ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:
- Select and retrieve specified items from warehouse shelves according to order tickets or RF scanner.
- Verify the accuracy of picked items against order requirements.
- Pack items securely and efficiently, using appropriate packaging materials to prevent damage during transit.
- Apply shipping labels and any necessary documentation to packages.
- Stage completed orders in the designated area for shipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at your workstation and surrounding areas.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Operate manual pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Report any stock shortages, damages, or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve daily operational goals within the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in picking, packing, or general warehouse work is highly desirable.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet performance standards.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Must be committed to safety and the proper use of required PPE.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
