We are looking for an efficient and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our fast-paced warehouse in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately preparing, processing, and documenting outgoing shipments. This role is vital to our logistics operations, ensuring that products reach our customers on time and in excellent condition. You will work closely with the shipping team to coordinate carriers, manage shipping documents, and maintain organized shipping areas. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to Safety are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, verify, and stage outgoing shipments.
- Accurately pick and pack orders according to shipping manifests.
- Prepare shipping labels and documentation, including bills of lading and customs forms where applicable.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL) for pickup schedules.
- Operate shipping equipment such as pallet jacks and scanners.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure order accuracy and product integrity before shipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping work area.
- Report any shipping discrepancies or damages immediately.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times while performing duties.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including some Lifting of packages up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse environment preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to follow all Safety procedures and guidelines.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform moderate Lifting .
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
