We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the shipping process, ensuring that all outbound shipments are accurate, well-documented, and dispatched on time. Your contributions are vital to maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our supply chain operations. This position offers a great opportunity to hone your administrative and logistics coordination skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and customs forms.
- Verify outgoing shipments against orders to ensure accuracy in quantity and product.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Operate shipping software to track shipments and manage logistics data.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status and any issues.
- Ensure proper labeling and packaging of all outgoing goods according to company and carrier requirements.
- Maintain organized records of all shipping activities and related paperwork.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of PPE in the shipping area.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and safe shipping dock.
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned to support the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar administrative role within a logistics environment.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Understanding of shipping procedures and carrier requirements.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and the importance of PPE.
- Familiarity with lifting and moving packages within a warehouse setting is helpful.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree is a plus.
