We are looking for a diligent Material Handler to join our logistics team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. Your tasks will include loading and unloading shipments, organizing inventory, and ensuring that materials are ready for processing or dispatch. This is a physically demanding position that requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment throughout the warehouse and to production areas.
- Organize and stock materials in designated storage locations, ensuring proper inventory rotation.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation, reporting any discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, free from hazards.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Perform regular inspections of material handling equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking activities.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain operations of the facility.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a material handler, warehouse worker, or in a similar role is required.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification required or obtainable).
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Capability of lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices, including proper use of PPE.
- Good spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
- Basic understanding of logistics and inventory management principles.
