Green Pharmacy serves a unique and complex population at Scripps with solid organ transplant, bone marrow transplant and oncology among the specialties. We are the smallest of the acute care hospitals but that allows us to be a more cohesive and supportive unit. The pharmacy team is composed of highly skilled and knowledgeable pharmacist and technicians that are patient focused.
Responsibilities include:
- Primarily operation focused centrally based; participates in direct patient care as clinical competencies are approved and on approved shifts.
- Documents the care provided to patients.
- Supervises the drug distribution operation: responsible for assuring safe and effective alternatives as appropriate.
- Contributes to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy.
- Routinely communicates with physicians, nurses and patients regarding drug therapy.
- Demonstrates ability to provide age-specific patient care as established for area and job title.
- Demonstrates ability to perform competencies and prescription authorities as approved by the medical staff.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree
- California Pharmacist License
- AHA BLS for the health care provider and ACLS certifications required prior to being trained to respond to codes.
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) or other nationally recognized certification required within 2 years' of hire.
- Experience in a multi-site health system pharmacy enterprise;
- Teaching certificate and/or experience precepting students and/or residents
- PGY1 residency or 3 years' experience in relevant practice area preferred.
