We have an immediate opening for a skilled Material Handler in our Kansas City, Missouri facility. This role is vital for the smooth flow of materials throughout our warehouse, ensuring raw materials and finished goods are moved efficiently and safely. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other machinery to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Stack and store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper placement and stability.
- Conduct daily inspections of material handling equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock verification.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with all regulations.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as pushing, pulling, and Lifting up to 70 lbs.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control principles.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times in designated areas.
