We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our busy distribution center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This position is key to our logistics operations, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have prior experience, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to operate forklifts in a fast-paced environment. You will play a crucial role in our supply chain, ensuring goods are handled properly and inventory is managed effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to transport, stack, and retrieve materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers accurately and securely.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment and perform minor maintenance as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficient logistics flow.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily operational targets.
- Ensure all handled products are kept in good condition.
- Be vigilant about safety hazards in the warehouse environment.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned, including occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Certified Forklift Operator with proven experience.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all regulations.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime when necessary.
- Must be able to stand and operate machinery for extended periods.
