Join our Grand Rapids, Michigan team as a Warehouse Technician! We are seeking a skilled individual to ensure the optimal functioning of our warehouse equipment and facilities. This role is critical for maintaining the efficiency and safety of our logistics operations. You will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of various machinery and systems within our distribution center. Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment, including conveyors, forklifts, sorters, and automated systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
- Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty parts and components.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with industry standards and company safety protocols.
- Operate machinery and tools safely and effectively during maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent.
- Adhere to strict safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE.
- Assist in the setup and installation of new equipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions and emergency repair needs.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in our logistics infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, particularly in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics equipment.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including comprehensive knowledge of PPE requirements.
- Physical capability to perform tasks requiring standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Certification in forklift repair or specific equipment maintenance is a plus.
