Our bustling distribution center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is actively seeking an experienced Forklift Operator. This position is critical to our supply chain and logistics operations, ensuring the efficient movement of goods within our facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will operate various types of forklifts to move, stock, and retrieve inventory, load and unload trucks, and maintain an organized warehouse. Your responsibilities will include conducting daily inspections of your forklift, performing routine maintenance, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly. Precision and adherence to established procedures are key to success in this role. You will be working in a dynamic warehouse environment where safety is the utmost priority. This role requires the ability to operate equipment safely and competently, while also being aware of your surroundings and the potential hazards. Significant physical activity is involved, including frequent lifting of items up to 50 pounds, bending, and maneuvering in tight spaces. All team members are required to wear appropriate PPE , including safety shoes, vests, and gloves, as mandated by our comprehensive safety program. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and trailers accurately and efficiently.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Properly use and maintain all required PPE .
- Assist with other warehouse duties, including order picking and packing, as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, contributing to overall warehouse efficiency.
- Support the logistics team in achieving operational goals.
- Regularly engage in physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Demonstrated ability in safe operation and material handling.
- Capability for lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of warehouse logistics and inventory control.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE .
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
