In a Nutshell Are you ready to turn data into powerful, evidence-based insights that drive decision-making across Virgin Atlantic? As an Analyst – Analytics & Insight, you will apply rigorous data analysis to complex business problems, generating clear, actionable insight across cross-functional areas. You will support enterprise-wide initiatives by interrogating data, identifying patterns and discrepancies, and translating findings into meaningful recommendations.
Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will understand business questions and deliver robust analysis that informs decision-making. You will own analysis end-to-end, from understanding data structure and quality through to applying appropriate methodologies and clearly articulating conclusions and limitations.
You will promote strong standards for working with data and framing analytical questions by developing and maintaining documentation on methods, assumptions, and data usage, ensuring transparency and consistency. You will also make complex analysis accessible by presenting insights to non-technical audiences using clear narrative, data visualisation, and structured storytelling.
Day to day
Perform detailed data analysis to support decision-making and resolve complex business questions.
Investigate data from multiple sources, identifying inconsistencies, trends, and drivers of performance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to frame analytical problems, define assumptions, and agree appropriate approaches.
Develop and apply suitable statistical and analytical methodologies, using judgement to select the right techniques.
Translate analysis into clear, evidence-based recommendations tailored to the audience, deploying techniques such as data visualisation, storytelling, and presentations.
Monitor data quality, highlight limitations, and ensure analytical outputs are robust and well-understood.
About you
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Strong experience in data analysis, including interpreting complex datasets and handling ambiguity.
Proficiency in SQL and/or Python, with the ability to explore, transform, and analyse data efficiently.
Demonstrated analytical thinking, including forming assumptions, validating hypotheses, and assessing materiality.
Ability to communicate analysis clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
