We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic General Manager to lead our seasonal pizza restaurant located in the heart of a beautiful Colorado mountain town. As the General Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring top-notch guest service, and managing a team of passionate and dedicated staff. You will be responsible for driving the overall success of the business during our open season, while providing an exceptional dining experience for both locals and visitors.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your primary duties will involve everything from staff management and training to inventory control and maintaining a high standard of food and service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Staff Management:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of front-of-house and kitchen staff.
- Oversee daily staffing schedules to ensure optimal coverage.
- Hire, train, and develop staff with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Provide regular feedback and performance reviews to team members.
- Operations Management:
- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and monitor food preparation to ensure quality and consistency.
- Manage and perform inventory control, ordering, and vendor relationships to keep costs within budget.
- Work alongside staff as necessary to ensure smooth operations - this is a working manager position.
- Customer Service Excellence:
- Ensure an exceptional customer experience by leading by example in guest interaction and service.
- Handle guest concerns or issues with professionalism and resolve them promptly.
- Create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for locals and tourists alike.
- Financial Performance:
- Manage daily cash handling and reporting processes.
- Monitor and control labor costs, food costs, and operational expenses to ensure profitability.
- Track and analyze sales data to make informed decisions for improving business performance.
- Marketing & Community Engagement:
- Collaborate with local businesses and organizations to drive traffic and build a loyal customer base.
- Handle seasonal marketing initiatives, including social media and promotions.
- Foster relationships with regular customers and tourists to encourage repeat business.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of upper level restaurant management experience, preferably in a fast-paced or seasonal environment.
- Experience in both front-of-house and kitchen operations is a must.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Financial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive revenue.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a dynamic, seasonal environment.
- Other Requirements:
- Must be available to work every day during the operating season (typically 6 days per week, May through October or November)
- Ability to work in high-altitude conditions and a physically demanding environment.
- Passion for food, hospitality, and creating memorable experiences for guests.
