Center City Public Charter School seeks a passionate and dynamic Enrichment Teacher to inspire students through creative and engaging learning experiences beyond traditional classroom subjects. The Enrichment Teacher will design and implement specialized programs to foster creativity, critical thinking, and personal growth. Areas of focus may include the arts, STEM, physical education, cultural studies, or other specialized disciplines aligned with the school's mission. This role is essential in shaping well-rounded students who thrive academically and personally.
Responsibilities
Program Design & Instruction- Develop and deliver creative and engaging lessons aligned with school objectives.
- Create project-based learning opportunities to foster collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity.
- Integrate culturally responsive practices into instructional content.
- Contribute to school-wide events, performances, and exhibitions that showcase student work.
- Cultivate a supportive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
- Encourage student exploration and self-expression through hands-on activities and experiential learning.
- Provide constructive feedback to support students' growth and development.
- Serve as a mentor and role model, promoting positive behaviors and social skills.
- Assist in organizing extracurricular activities, including clubs and after-school programs.
- Support school initiatives related to student wellness, social-emotional learning, and equity.
- Work closely with classroom teachers, administrators, and other staff to align enrichment activities with academic goals.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and program activities.
- Collaborate with community partners to bring additional resources and expertise to the classroom.
- Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Reflect on instructional practices and make data-informed decisions to improve teaching strategies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in enrichment education.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and academic progress.
- Adhere to school-wide policies regarding attire, behavior, and punctuality.
- Attend and participate in school events outside of regular hours as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, arts, foreign language, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of urban teaching experience
- Passion for innovative teaching practices and student engagement.
- Ability to infuse technology into the curriculum
- Able to lift to 10 pounds and stand for long hours.
