Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Core Network Engineer to design, operate, and optimize high-availability core network infrastructure. The role focuses on ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability of enterprise or service-provider networks that support mission-critical applications and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain core network architecture including routing, switching, and backbone infrastructure
  • Ensure high availability, redundancy, and fault tolerance across core network systems
  • Monitor network performance and proactively optimize throughput, latency, and stability
  • Configure and manage routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and lead root cause analysis for critical incidents
  • Collaborate with security, cloud, and systems teams to support secure and scalable connectivity
  • Participate in network upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives
  • Create and maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, and operational procedures
  • Support capacity planning and future network expansion strategies

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of core networking concepts (Layer 2/Layer 3, TCP/IP)
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise or service-provider network environments
  • Proficiency in routing and switching technologies
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery network design

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiarity with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible)
  • Knowledge of network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, DDoS protection)
  • Exposure to SDN, NFV, or modern network architectures
  • Relevant certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent)

Pay: $90, $130,000.00 per year
