Duties

• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions swiftly and efficiently
• Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with precision and integrity
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
• Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, enhancing the shopping experience
• Assist with merchandising tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, and maintaining store cleanliness
• Upsell complementary products to maximize sales opportunities while respecting customer preferences
• Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
• Support retail sales efforts through effective communication skills and proactive engagement with shoppers

Qualifications

• Prior cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
• Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customers effectively
• Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
• Experience supervising or leading small teams is advantageous but not mandatory
• Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, stock management, and retail math will support success in this role
