SURGICAL TECHNICIAN/TECHNOLOGIST REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior work as a Surgical Tech or prior work in a healthcare setting with certification in a medical field such as CNA, PCT, LPN, or EMT
Basic knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
Able to work overtime beyond regularly scheduled work hours
Current BLS certification or obtained within three months of employment
SURGICAL TECHNICIAN/TECHNOLOGIST PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Surgical Technologist certification
- Two years' experience as a Surgical Technologist/Technician
Responsible and accountable for implementing care of assigned patient. Works with RN's and physicians as surgical team member. Responsible and accountable for delegated care and tasks. Assigned patients may vary in age for infancy through geriatrics. Hours of work and length of shift may vary from the established schedule. Exposure to anesthetic gases, noxious odors, blood, body fluids, and airborne viruses. Must be able to use and troubleshoot equipment: scope equipment, OR tables, stirrups, electrosurgical equipment, smoke evacuator, sterilizers, etc. Able to take call evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
