About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distinguished Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic team at Capital One Software. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development and deployment of advanced machine learning systems that will shape the future of our data management solutions. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with product, technology, and design leaders to build innovative solutions that address complex business challenges. Your expertise will be instrumental in promoting a culture of engineering excellence, driving adoption of modern technologies, and mentoring the next generation of tech talent. You will operate as a trusted advisor across the enterprise, influencing key stakeholders and shaping the strategic direction of our machine learning initiatives. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Software Engineering
• At least 5 years of experience in Machine Learning Systems and Infrastructure
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, and SQL
• Experience deploying machine learning models in production environments at scale
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and data tools such as Kafka, Airflow, Spark, Glue, Kinesis
• Experience with Databricks or Snowflake
• Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation
• Experience with LLM Ops tooling, including model versioning, deployment, cost optimization, and latency reduction
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders across organizational levels
• Proven leadership in mentoring and developing technical talent

• Lead talent development initiatives by mentoring internal teams and actively recruiting external experts to strengthen the technical workforce
