Compensation: $65,520-$78,520 (DOE)

As the Accounting Manager at Breckenridge Grand Vacations, you will be the operational leader ensuring the financial precision that underpins our mission of creating unforgettable mountain experiences. You will leverage your expertise to manage critical processes, from sales agent commissions to entity-level reporting, providing clear financial data that empowers our leaders to make strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes for the parent company and all ancillary LLCs.
  • Oversee the complete accounting cycle for ancillary entities, including journal entries, financial statement preparation, and GL maintenance.
  • Prepare and direct the reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Interpret complex financial events and transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • Own the end-to-end process for calculating and processing bimonthly sales agent commission runs.
  • Continuously evaluate, improve, and maximize the efficiency of all accounting processes.
  • Directly manage, mentor, and develop at least one Staff Accountant.
  • Handle full-cycle people management, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, performance reviews, and time sheet approval.
  • Foster a positive team environment, provide constructive feedback, and support staff growth.
  • Uphold and ensure staff adherence to all company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Handle administrative duties, including writing job descriptions, procedures, and managing potential worker compensation claims.
  • Act as the "end of the line" for resolving accounting-related inquiries and situations, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with guests, owners, co-workers, and vendors.
  • Support company-wide training initiatives and lead departmental meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and analysis (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Strong proficiency with other Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proven ability to manage the full month-end close process.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and ability to interpret financial reports and legal documents.
  • Strong mathematical skills with the ability to calculate commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Excellent English language skills (speak, read, write) to effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A certificate from a fifth-year college program (e.g., CPA certification or eligibility) is highly preferred.
  • Experience managing accounting for multiple entities or subsidiary companies.
  • Specific experience with sales agent or commission-based payroll processing.
  • Prior experience in a hospitality, real estate, or property management environment.
  • Experience with the Paylocity timekeeping and HR system.
  • A proven track record of improving and streamlining accounting processes for maximum efficiency.
