We're looking for a Human Resources Analyst to join our team.

This position performs professional level Human Resources functions for assigned region(s). This is a very complex position requiring considerable knowledge of Civil Service rules and regulations, DCFS Policy Manual, DCFS Human Resources Policies and Procedures, job qualifications, testing requirements, pay plans, program policies and administrative procedures. This position provides assistance to regional employees on Civil Services rules, Federal and State laws, and department policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of human resources experience; OR

Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR

A bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Provides information to supervisors on methods of filling positions.
  • Initiates and/or prepares the Position Action request forms and posts job announcements on LaJobs website.
  • Provides lists of eligible candidates to hiring managers.
  • Completes the enrollment Human Resources documents for all employees in the region.
  • Submits notification of Human Resources/position action entry forms for all employees in the region.
  • Completes and reviews a variety of Human Resources related forms for completion and accuracy and submits to State Office Human Resources.
  • Conducts new employee orientation to provide information to new staff.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Human Resources Analyst A or B.

Works Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.

Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate of $17.43 per hour for Human Resources Analyst A and $18.64 per hour for Human Resources Analyst B. This position is eligible for premium pay up to $2.00 per hour.

Location of Work: The domicile will be determined by the selected candidate.
