Bronx Diagnostic Radiology is a leading radiology practice in the Bronx, committed to providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our community. We are looking to add a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to our team to ensure the smooth operation of our practice and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an organized and proactive Administrative Assistant to help manage the daily operations of our radiology practice. The ideal candidate will assist in scheduling, patient intake, insurance verification, filing, and other administrative tasks while ensuring an efficient and welcoming environment. This role is critical to maintaining the smooth flow of our practice and supporting both patients and medical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Interaction: Greet patients upon arrival, assist with patient check-in and check-out, verify patient information, and ensure a positive and efficient experience.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Schedule patient appointments for radiology services, manage appointments, handle rescheduling, cancellations, and confirmations.
  • Documentation & Filing: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, assist in updating electronic medical records (EMRs), and organize files in compliance with practice and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Insurance Verification: Confirm insurance details, process pre-certifications, and work with patients and providers to ensure coverage for procedures.
  • Office Communication: Answer phone calls, respond to emails, handle inquiries, and provide general administrative support to the team.
  • Compliance & Recordkeeping: Ensure all practice protocols are followed and maintain up-to-date records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare laws.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in a healthcare-related field.
  • Skills:
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail, especially when dealing with sensitive patient data.
  • Ability to handle high-volume tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • A positive, professional attitude and the ability to work effectively with patients and team members.
  • Experience with insurance verification, billing, and coding (preferred but not required).
