About the Role

Scramblers is all about great food, friendly faces, and a fast-moving breakfast and brunch crowd. We're looking for a hands-on Kitchen Manager who loves mornings, thrives during a busy breakfast rush, and knows how to lead a kitchen team with confidence and respect.

This role is perfect for someone who can jump on the line, keep things running smoothly, and step in as Head Chef or General Manager when needed. You'll be a key leader in keeping Scramblers running strong every day.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading the Breakfast Kitchen

  • Run day-to-day kitchen operations during busy breakfast and lunch service
  • Lead the line during peak rushes and set the pace for fast, consistent ticket times
  • Prepare and oversee classic breakfast and brunch items—eggs, pancakes, griddle favorites, breakfast meats, and more
  • Make sure food looks great, tastes great, and goes out right every time
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and always up to health code standards

Being a Strong Team Leader

  • Train, coach, and support kitchen staff in a positive, team-first environment
  • Set clear expectations for prep, punctuality, and performance—especially during early mornings
  • Build schedules that make sense for high-volume breakfast shifts
  • Cover the days off of the General Manager and Lead Cook, including opening, closing, and leadership duties
  • Work closely with front-of-house staff to keep service smooth and guests happy

Keeping Operations on Track

  • Handle inventory, ordering, and food cost control with an eye on freshness and waste
  • Complete daily checklists, prep plans, and basic administrative tasks
  • Assist with scheduling, payroll coordination, and kitchen organization
  • Help keep equipment maintained and the kitchen running efficiently

Stepping In When Needed

  • Act as General Manager when required, overseeing the restaurant, supporting staff, and taking care of guests
  • Handle guest concerns with professionalism and a friendly Scramblers attitude
  • Uphold company standards and help keep the restaurant running like clockwork

What We're Looking For

  • Experience leading a kitchen, preferably in a breakfast, brunch, or high-volume restaurant
  • Strong line skills and comfort jumping in wherever needed
  • Natural leadership style—firm, fair, and supportive
  • Organized, reliable, and calm under pressure
  • Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation
  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
